Team Gonads Sport Support by: Jonathan Stastny
![]() www.teamgonads.com This review will be about another one of Team Gonads' innovative ideas. This time I will be reviewing the Sport Support. They've done it again, another product to help “‘pedders" without hurting they're pocket books!! The Sport Support was designed as an alternative for the Third Bearing Support. It is very easy to install.. Step 1: Remove Gas Tank Step 2: Remove Engine Step 3: Install the sport support between the engine and the framebox with the fin facing down and towards the back. Step 4: Put Engine and gas tank back one Step 5: Take the wingnut off the rear axel and put the 2nd EPW(the purple thing) on the axel, Step 6: Slide the EPW up against the Sport Support and tighten down your axel(make sure both epws are set!) Now your ready to go. This process took me about 15 minutes. Dane Underwood, Ryan Weller and myself (Jonathan Stastny) couldn't wait to go hit the jumps! We went around looking for good places to jump, and we found a loading dock about 5-feet high, we began jumping off of it with my G230RC Sport with the Sport Support. We did that and a few small stairs for about 1 and 1/2 hours. After all of that, no breaking of the crank! I wouldn't have dared to jump that without a third bearing before! So far so good, the Sport Support was doing its job! We pedded on and found an 8-stair, we all jumped it, I fell once(Whoops!), and if you've seen the post about Dane breaking his rim, you know that’s gotta be a pretty rough landing! After about 6 times jumping the 8-stair, still nothing broke!! Now, I was more worried about my frame breaking than my crank! But, I thought what they heck, why not?! Sooo, we went on and found another place with about a 6-foot drop off, the 2nd time off...SNAP! *TUMBLE* *ROLL* My frame had broken, a long with my t-pole....NOT GOOD, I thought, for sure if my frame broke, so did my crank. Much to my surprise my crank still had not broken! After a long day of jumping and putting my ped through hell, my frame and t-pole broke my crank didn’t! ! Thanks to the Sport Support, I don't have to go out and buy a pricey G230RC crank...just a pricey X-ped frame! There are many reasons for using the sport support as an alternative to the 3rd bearing support. For one, on a Go-Ped the framebox which encloses the rear tire sometimes slightly bends, and with a third bearing, it cause the spindle to lean at an angle so that the third bearing no longer gives the protection required to ensure that the crank will not break. Second of all, the price..this bad boy will only cost you $18.00!!! Compared to the $30 for a third bearing plus about $20 for a long drive spindle! And from my experience, the Sport Support works just as good as a third bearing. So what are you waiting for you Sport owners??? Go out there protect your cranks and get yourself a Sport Support. Price: $18.00 Available at: http://www.teamgonads.com www.gssracing.com www.peaksperformancepeds.com Review By: PedinOmaha Revised By: KeBin King Graphics By: Jason Pangan
