Super FlyBars
![]() Reviewed By: KeBin King Graphics By: Seth Gartin ~Things to know~ Where to get them: Contact Stephan Sutton @ 661-222-3787 www.FlyBars.com, www.TeamGoNads.com How Much: Around 325 bucks Why: Strongest bars out on the market, no doubt. *The Good Stuff* Man OH man , and everyone thought that getting some X-Ped Bars and a X-Ped slide tube would make them have the strongest steering system on their ped. Well I¡¦ll tell you what, I got news for you my friends. You can have something 10 times as strong, 10 times the braking power and 10 times the good looking all in one shot. You want to know what they are? Noticing from the title of this review, you know I¡¦m going to say, IT¡¦S THE SUPER FLYBARS. The VERY first time I saw these Super Fly Bars were back in February at the CSC Visalia Race. There were a number of PPS riders using them, one in particular was a guy named Stephan Sutton. I didn¡¦t know his name at the time, but he was going big on his ped. These bars have been out for almost 2 years now. Bet you didn¡¦t know that eh? Well two years have passed and a whole bunch of improvements have been made to this product. I had a chance to meet Stephan Sutton down at the Skate Park with the foam pit. Well he and plenty others like Willie Handy and Brandon Currie had flybars on their Go-Peds and they were going BIG. I witnessed a lot of bails and flying Go-Peds but the bars were superior to the rest. The old flybars used the stock brake pads which bolted right on to one of the triple clamps. Problem they had with this was the tire would have to sit a bit higher then usual in order for the brakes to have correct contact with the wheel. My good friend Stuart of JV racing has a pair of these old flybars and they¡¦re still super dope. It¡¦s like vintage flybars at its best. The new flybars are just wicked. They have the same brakes that are found on Team GoNads Go-Ped Gyro. The V-Brakes! Man I¡¦ll tell you what; these V-Brakes have got to be the best brakes I¡¦ve used on a Go-Ped. These brakes are adjustable in every single way possible. When Assembling the flybars, you would want to set the triple clamp just above the top front tire. The lower you are the better handling you¡¦re going to get (Good advice). And a good thing about lowering the center of gravity is that the v-brakes are also adjustable to whatever freggin height you want. Man oh man, I¡¦m very impressed with the brakes! Only peeve I have with the flybars are the stainless steel bolts they provide with the bars. There are 8 bolts for the triple clamps that are stainless steel. They look good and all, but I wouldn¡¦t put those on the bars because they¡¦re prone to bend and snap off when you tighten them down. Spend an extra 2 bucks and go out to orchard, home depot or any hardware store and get the black ones that are the same exact size and those will treat you with tender loving. They¡¦re black but hey once you¡¦re black you¡¦ll never go back!! Installation of the flybars is pretty straight forward. If you can work on a bike or what not, then putting these baby¡¦s together is a breeze. A lot of people have trouble taking out the bearing cups on the frame. Well here¡¦s the trick, get a chisel or some object that can grab onto the inside part of the bearing cup. Get a hammer and whack those babies. Now the price for a set of these super sweet bars is around 325, you can get them by calling the number at http://www.flybars.com ask for Stephan Sutton or order them online at www.teamgonads.com You¡¦re probably wonder, DAYUUM 325!! Well if you want something that won't break under harsh racing and freestyle, man these are a MUST. Not to mention they look bad@$$ too! Some key facts to know about the flybars: Fully Chromed 4130 chromolly bars: looks good and it¡¦s strong as heck! Fully Polished 6160 billet aluminum triple clamps: purty ƒº Cantilever Brakes (will accept existing brake cable) Aluminum bearing cups and precision high quality bearings: Yes sealed bearing, non of those worn head set bearings all the time and the loose head set. All bolts are chromed hardened steel: w3rd! review not yet finished....still more to come in the next couple days...stay tuned
