ive seen a number of gopeds on craigslist. some of them ESR's. And so far every esr on craigslist has had dead batteries from the owner not properly maintaining them, and the seller has no clue why they went dead.

some people are just too ignorant or just plain stupid to fully comprehend (understand) the warnings and instructions they have read and will say they under stood them to not look like an idiot.

in every industry and every product especially those with many mechanical features (like gopeds) will have problems that need to be addressed but lemons happen.

Yes, Beware Customers.
Don't get your electric powered GoPed wet, and expect PMW to replace or repair it at PMW's expense.

Aside from water, nothing or nobody is perfect. Look at Jesus Christ, some people love him and some people hate him and he has been dead for nearly 2000 years.

I guess the best that one could hope for is to please some of the people some of the time. From MY experience with the ESR and GoPed, as well as from reading many many posts in here, it seems that the vast majority of end users are very pleased with the product and very happy with any contact or dealings the have had with Goped

Of course there will always be the few rotten apples who ignore the instructions, cautions and manufacture suggestions. Then try to deny any culpability and are "unwilling or unable to take responsibility for their own actions", while actively trying to spoil the barrel :hsugh:

I created this here thread so that people 'could' voice their concerns, suggestions and...gripes legitimate or not, without muddying up the rest of the Forum. And so that prospective buyers could see both sides of the coin and make an 'informed' decision, and so that GoPed could see where potential issues might be.

If you are considering an ESR and choose to listen to and put faith in the few squeaky "rotten apples" as opposed to the many Happy campers that is certainly your right.

But I do hope that you would first consider the source of both the Love....and the hate

Funny that you started this thread for gripes, but when anyone voices a gripe, there then follows a whole bunch of posts beating down the griper and the posts ignore the gripe and flow with mindless goped love. Not really useful to a prospective buyer. That guy says he didn't get the ped wet, but the easy thing for everyone who posts here to say is 'you got the ped wet'. Look back through this thread - every gripe is rationalized away with user error. Now that's great customer service.

I agree, Buyer beware of this company and this forum. I haven't had a bad experience with the company, but can see how they treat people and feel lucky that I have never done business with them.

Oh for God's sake. Denying what you've previously admitted to and posting under multiple member names (if you think anyone is fooled, you are an idiot). You really are more pathetic than I would have ever previously guessed. No friends, you find it difficult to communicate in social settings, a failing or soon to fail marriage, and blatant liar. You've suffered from parental neglect, delinquent peers, poverty, and are at one end or the other of intellectual measure. Lucky us.

Well heres my two cents: a gripe (IMO) is something about, say, a goped, that you dont like that you feel could be an improvement. My one gripe would be the handlebars are too narrow and im border line too heavy for a goped to "haul ass" with me on it. Neither of these "gripes" are really legible because, what good is a scooter that folds if it still doesnt fit anywhere? Hence the narrow bars. Now, the scooters not being fast enough? its a small electric scooter.. and im fat.. If i was lighter i would have no problems. point is these are not legible gripes along with someone who reads other opinions to form there own and also, one who goes against "the laws of electricity" and gets it wet and complains that the company wont fix it. I blew up my AMC gremlin because i never did an oil change, im still trying to get AMC to fix it... get it? Now if i said something like the tires are a little soft and wore out prematurely (which is not the case).. That in my opinion would be a legible gripe and could be taken into consideration for improvement by the said company. Im done.

Well my IP should be different, as I am not this young punk that everyone loves to hate. I just agree with him on some points, and find the way the company is treating him to be horrible. The way the forum treats him, well in a way he asks for it. Heck he goded everyone when people were accusing me of being him. What a company and what bunch of lemmings. I'm done with this place. Interesting that after offending that guy into leaving, you then choose to follow his advice and ignore me.

Well the US wouldn't have won that many medals if they had horrible customer service like PMW. I wonder if scooter slalom will ever be an Olympic sport?

Why would you continually IP spoof this guys IP? What did he do to you that would make you choose that IP, always? Seems like you have some reason to take him down with you if this is you IP spoofing.

I am assuming you are intending to say your a consumer advocate, not a self serving media glutton when you refer to Nader?

Nice SJ. The second set with locking rings(im guessing) are pretty sweet, but from the looks of the throttle, it looks like a different e-scooter. or is it just an older goped?

That is an original first generation ESR with an MLC race pole and drag bars. I love the ODI Lock-On grips and wanted to use them on my Hoverboard. Unfortunatly there is just not enough real estate on the bar ends for the throttle and the longer ODI grips, so I had to find some shorter gripes

I have a question about the water topic. I am looking at one of the electric Gopeds for commuting purposes back and forth to the train station. Here in Chicago the weather is very unpredictable. There are plenty of days where in the AM it is looking like a perfect day but by the end it is raining/snowing like crazy! With the electric hoverboard would I be limited to using it on those days where there is close to zero chance of precipitation? I can see where it would not be a good idea to go blasting through puddles, but I am trying to get some sense of whether I could ride it in a light rain, have to push it home, or leave it at the station and pick it up later.

Understandable concerns Alan. There are certain things you can do to improve the water tightness of the battery pan and the connectors, switches, etc.

I believe a member named "Roadie" may be our resident expert on this topic... that is if I remember correctly . Suggest you use the search function using his name as a "posted by" filter combined with a word filter like "rain" or "wet" or something like that. It seems this was heavily discussed often, especially around a a year or two ago.

And hopefully others will reply also... don't be afraid to start a new thread either, or post up again on a similar thread if you find it.

Thumbs up

I am new user to the site and after reading I thought i'd share my recent customer service thoughts & encounters. I have read a lot of posts now and noticed that Steve Patmont and other experienced users always seem to offer great solutions or information that really helps! I don't think PMW deserve to be written off for bad customer service at all, I mean think of how many other products / companies have you seen have help forums where the head guy actively discusses issues, takes onboard users suggestions for future products and provides tech support directly to customers via forum chat etc? I know a lot have forums but from experience not nearly as 1 on 1 with the manufacturers of the products as this and so much goes unheard!

Anyways... I recently had been trying to buy a Go-Wagon and upgrade my 09 ESR 750 EX to a Hoverboard (front and rear C.I.D.L.I. Suspension) and had a lot of trouble trying to get all these parts in Australia. I visited the Australian Go-Ped supplier (Extreme Toys) shop in person and left my requests for parts needed, I also sent emails to them with the parts but never heard back from them for weeks. I did not realise that the company was relocating until I got the emailed reply 2 weeks later. I also emailed Go-Ped USA and Australia through the websites requesting the parts and got no reply the first time.

I started emailing US resellers and a lot quoted me insane postage charges to Australia ($200 - $400US) for wagon and parts. Finally I came across a company called USAB2C, a great person there named Mimi who shopped around for postage on my behalf and got hold of all parts (except frame) provided excellent customer service and I got my delivery 1 week after payment. She even got the web team to add parts and shipping costs to the website after sourcing them so that I could make payments securely via the website using my credit card. I could not recommend this company enough when it comes to customer service!

I have since been contacted by Go-Ped USA by Scott Bolton who has been very prompt in replying to my emails and helpful with trying to get this frame sent to me here via Extreme Toys next shipment.

I have a feeling that my 1st attempts to contact go-ped via the websites may have been lost in the system due to some errors with the sites.

So basically even though my 1st attempts with getting parts from various companies were terrible and I almost gave up and sold the EX to buy a New Hoverboard, I kept trying and found there are some great people who provide great customer service out there! Even 2 people from the same company can make the experience completely different just by being prompt or slow in responding, taking the time to research a little instead of just giving a standard response or asking questions to make sure the customer gets what they need.

Oh and yeah btw, The Go-Wagon's are awesome!! Best accessory I have ever purchased No idea why they stopped making them though? I think someone needs to make mods for them like Suspension kits, Weather covers, Billet Rims / Decks / Sides, Raised side mods etc... If there are any of these out there I would love to know who sells them!

Just my 2 Cents

Luke - ESR 750EX to Hoverboard soon enough!

I am glad to hear that you had a positive experience in your quest, but this here is a GRIPES thread

Just kidding

I got to say that you went about this the hard way. Most folks who have/LOVE an ESR and then want the plush suspension of a Hoverboard just end up buying a second scooter and keeping one for the wife or as a spare ride for a friend. Do you tow, or will you tow the GoWagon with your scooter? If so do you think you could put up a few pics of the hitch for all to see

Oh and WELCOME to the addiction!

as for USAB2C.com , a little llokup brought up nothing bad but some serious hint and slight ( not doublechecked but reasonably to assume to be true) proof that they are legit.

and prices are competitive, too. nice find.
